The Boozy Blondes returned to one of their favorite cities, New Orleans, for another unforgettable adventure filled with incredible food, creative cocktails, live music, and a few new discoveries along the way. While they’ve covered the Crescent City extensively in past episodes, this trip focused on fresh experiences, new hidden gems, and a handful of beloved classics that continue to draw them back year after year. The DOE is a Paloma made with Mijenta Blanco tequila. Chrissy interviewed Mijenta Master Distiller Ana Maria Romero in Episode 073 (listen here)!
Chrissy kicked off the trip at Junebug NOLA, a stylish restaurant known for inventive cocktails, warm hospitality, and elevated Southern cuisine. Once Molly arrived in town, their first stop was one of their all-time favorites, Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits, where wine, live music, and a backyard atmosphere once again delivered the quintessential New Orleans experience – even though they spent most of time dodging raindrops! The oyster happy hour at Seaworthy impressed even Molly, who is the least enthusiastic about oysters in the group, before they enjoyed a lively evening at Sofia. Amber Gunn of Amber Hops Around (and Episode 086 – listen here) and her husband Brad joined the group at Sofia where pasta, spritzes, and good company kept the celebration going.

The girls also explored several local favorites, including breakfast at Molly’s Rise and Shine, craft beers at Second Line Brewing, and a sunny afternoon at Bayou Beer Garden. Wine lovers and foodies will appreciate their stop at Coppervine, while New Orleans first-timers and veterans alike can never go wrong with classics like Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop Bar and Napoleon House. Along the way, they enjoyed cocktails at The Will and The Way, grabbed drinks from the nationally recognized Jewel of the South, and finally satisfied their beignet cravings at Café Beignet, paired with a glass of champagne, of course.
Chrissy was able to visit Observatory Eleven at the Westin for rooftop views of the Mississippi River, The Italian Barrel for a memorable French Quarter dinner, Brennan’s for a taste of New Orleans elegance, and several standout cocktail destinations including Pluck Wine Bar, Fives Bar, Peychaud’s, and Espíritu Mezcaleria & Cocina.

Never a dull moment, later in the week, Molly got stuck in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and rented a car to drive back to New Orleans to meet Chrissy. On her bonus night, the girls enjoyed a bonus dinner at Pêche (Michelin recommended!), while Muriel’s and the Davenport Lounge provided the perfect blend of New Orleans history, atmosphere, and live music.
Believe it or not, the Boozy Blondes didn’t spend the entire trip eating and drinking. They explored the beautiful homes of the Garden District on a walking tour, followed by a picnic in City Park, okay, which did include booze…and food. Chrissy biked through Louis Armstrong Park, and soaked up local culture at the Lafayette Square concert series.

By the end of the trip, New Orleans once again proved why it remains one of the Boozy Blondes’ favorite destinations. Whether discovering a new neighborhood gem, revisiting a beloved institution, or simply enjoying live music with friends, the city continues to deliver unforgettable experiences that keep Chrissy and Molly planning their next visit before they’ve even left town.
